How a career starts

You begin by choosing a home country and a position. Then you break in at a lower-tier club, which means you start near the bottom and have to earn your way up. From there the game moves season by season, with the goal of climbing toward the elite leagues.

Transfers, trophies and fame

Three systems drive the game:

• Transfer decisions. Roughly every couple of seasons you get a transfer decision, and your choice changes the path of your career.
• Trophies. Winning trophies unlocks new shirts for your collection, so success shows up as something you can see.
• Fame. Your stats feed a global fame leaderboard, which lets you compare your career with other players.
