Sealed Fates is a fantasy card duel where nerve beats luck. Each player brings a deck of 20 and plays one card a turn onto the Pile. Your card's Attack has to reach the top card's Defence. Can't beat it, or would rather not? Take the Pile into your hand and plan your comeback. The first player to get rid of every card wins. Gods are infinite, and only infinity beats them. Worlds and Spells go on anything, and while a World is in play it powers up its whole element and beats the rival one, so a single card can turn a match around. When your deck runs dry you play your three Guardians, and last of all you flip your three Sealed cards blind. WHAT YOU CAN PLAY • Your free Starter Set: six packs to open by hand, with cards for your first decks • Bots at Easy, Medium and Hard • Trials of Ny'Vara: six rivals, each with their own deck and a twist on the rules • Casual online matches and challenges with friends • A deck builder with a Power budget: mix two elements and find your combos • 85 cards across Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light and Dark • Animated Worlds that set the table on fire, flood it or blow it away You play as a guest, and your collection is saved in this browser. There are no ads and nothing is for sale. Opening more packs and ranked play need a Google account: sign in on the game's website or in the apps. HOW IT STARTED In 2023 I travelled around Europe with friends, and a mate and I played Palace with a normal deck of cards nearly the whole trip. I kept wondering what it would be like as a trading card game, so I made one: I designed the cards and an expansion in Figma, wrote the spells and the lore, and printed the only physical deck. Sealed Fates is the digital version I always wanted, inspired by Hearthstone. It has drifted a little from the printed cards, but it plays the same. The card illustrations were made with an AI image generator (Microsoft Copilot) and picked by hand; the rules, card frames, effects and sound design are the game's own.
