Burrow Worms is an underground worm battle in a world you dig yourself. Tunnel through the dirt, leave a trail of open caves behind you and gobble up green, yellow, blue and rare red gems to grow longer. Watch out for glowing lava pockets and solid rock, and never let your head touch another worm's body — you'll be knocked out and your length spills out as gems for everyone else. Turn the tables by boosting ahead of a rival to cut them off, and heal when the lava gets too close. Every run takes place in a different underground world — Dirt, Clay, Desert, Ice Cave, Volcano or Crystal Cave — and you can pick from four modes: endless Classic, the 3-minute Gem Rush where the longest worm wins, Lava Rising where the arena shrinks as lava creeps in, and Darkness where only your own light shows the way. Earn coins to unlock 12 worm skins and six upgrades: Lava Armor, Lean Boost, Big Start, Coin Bonus, Gem Magnet and Power Drill.

How to play

Steer your worm through the dirt to dig tunnels and eat gems to grow longer; rarer gems are worth more. Don't let your head touch another worm's body or you'll be knocked out and drop your length as gems. In a head-on crash, the bigger worm wins. Lava burns your health and rocks can't be dug through. Boost to move faster and cut rivals off (costs a little length), and Heal to restore health while moving slower. Choose a mode before you play: Classic (endless), Gem Rush (3 minutes, longest worm wins), Lava Rising (survive as the arena shrinks) or Darkness (only your light shows the way). Spend coins in the shop on skins and upgrades.

Controls

Desktop: move the mouse to steer (or WASD / arrow keys), hold Space or Left Click to boost, hold Shift or Right Click to heal, Esc or P to pause. Mobile: use the joystick in the bottom-left corner to steer (touch anywhere on the left half of the screen), hold BOOST to speed up and HEAL to restore health. Play in landscape.
